Dam projects

Another application where Krøll cranes are a great asset is, dam projects, normally in connection with hydro power plants. The heavy lifts with quick and great accuracy are prefect for poring concrete.

 

The cranes are equipped with specially designed hoist winch for high speed operation e.g. K-1800 which is currently situated at the Three Gorges Project, was delivered with a 300 kW hoist winch capable of lifting a 20 ton concrete bucket with a speed of 63 m/min.

     

 

 

Three Gorges Project
There is currently a K-1800 at The Three Gorges Project on the Yangtze River in China, the worlds biggest water conservancy project ever built.

 

With normal pool level at 175 m, and a total storage capacity of the reservoir is 39.3 billion cubic meters, with a generating capacity of 18.200 MW, and an annual output of 84.68 TWh.
